Counterexample Department
Twenty-three confirmations are reassuring. One counterexample is decisive.

Behind the designRead the story
There is something reassuring about a page full of checkmarks.
Everything agrees.
The pattern holds.
Then one result refuses to cooperate.
In mathematics a claim that something is true in every case makes a very particular promise. A single example that satisfies the conditions but contradicts the conclusion is enough to disprove it.
That example has a name.
A counterexample.
That small but decisive interruption became the starting point for Counterexample Department.
We imagined an inspection department with an orderly record of its findings. Twenty-three checkmarks. One red cross.
The repeated marks establish a rhythm.
Your eye settles into it.
Then it finds the exception.
ONE IS ENOUGH.
The design gives that single result room to matter. The surrounding confirmations remain visible.
So does the finding that changes everything.
We chose this idea because there is something valuable in being shown exactly where an idea fails. A counterexample gives us a place to look again. To reconsider an assumption. To ask a better question.
A failed claim can become the beginning of a better one.
Sometimes progress arrives as a checkmark.
Sometimes it is the red cross.
Beauty. Discovery. Depth.

Fabric & care
Soft, lightweight cotton for comfortable everyday wear. Our current Black and Navy Bella + Canvas shirts are 100% combed and ring-spun cotton, approximately 4.2 oz/yd² (142 g/m²). These are lightweight shirts, not heavyweight tees.
Turn inside out. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with similar colors and mild detergent. Avoid fabric softener and bleach. Do not dry-clean. Air-dry where practical, or tumble-dry on low. Use a cool iron inside out if needed; never iron directly on the printed design.
Pre-shrunk does not mean shrink-proof. Warm or hot washing and high-heat drying can cause further shrinkage and affect the print. Follow the care label supplied with your garment.
