Behind the designRead the story
An inventory begins with a simple question.
What is here?
Across the universe, the answer appears to be larger than what we can see.
Stars and gas in the outer regions of galaxies orbit faster than the gravity of visible matter alone would predict. The bending of light around galaxies and galaxy clusters tells a related story.
More mass is present than the luminous inventory can explain.
We call that unseen component dark matter.
Its gravitational effects can be measured.
What it is remains unresolved.
That combination of evidence and uncertainty became the starting point for Dark Matter Inventory Control.
We imagined an inventory department responsible for something that resists an ordinary stocktake. A crate. An inferred halo. A record of motion standing in for direct inspection.
PRESENT BY INFERENCE.
The illustrative rotation curve carries the central discrepancy. One line shows the expected orbital speeds from visible matter alone. The other remains higher as the radius increases.
The difference gives the department something to account for.
PHYSICAL COUNT PENDING.
We chose this idea because science often begins with a mismatch. An observation refuses to fit. A familiar explanation reaches its limit. Something unseen starts to become necessary to the account.
There is discipline in following that evidence.
There is equal discipline in keeping the unanswered question open.
OBSERVE. INFER. REPEAT.
The inventory is unfinished.
The universe keeps moving.
Beauty. Discovery. Depth.

Design and edition notes
The rotation curve is illustrative, not measured data; the halo outline is a schematic, not a photograph of dark matter. Cream and purple inks are not metallic or glow-in-the-dark. Black unisex Bella + Canvas 3001 crew neck with front, back, and left-sleeve printing, sizes S–2XL.
Fabric & care
Soft, lightweight cotton for comfortable everyday wear. Our current Black and Navy Bella + Canvas shirts are 100% combed and ring-spun cotton, approximately 4.2 oz/yd² (142 g/m²). These are lightweight shirts, not heavyweight tees.
Turn inside out. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with similar colors and mild detergent. Avoid fabric softener and bleach. Do not dry-clean. Air-dry where practical, or tumble-dry on low. Use a cool iron inside out if needed; never iron directly on the printed design.
Pre-shrunk does not mean shrink-proof. Warm or hot washing and high-heat drying can cause further shrinkage and affect the print. Follow the care label supplied with your garment.
